How to motivate employees to report misconduct

Companies want to find out about misconduct by their own employees as early as possible. The establishment of a reporting system that ensures the protection of whistleblowers is considered best practice.
However, internal communication on this topic often lapses into deterrent rhetoric and quickly creates an unpleasant aftertaste among employees, which does not help the success of such programmes.
